New Features:
File Preview Enhancements:
In addition to inspecting file contents of supported file types within the file explorer, you can now preview file content directly from the map for the following formats:
Seismic (.sgy)
CTD (.s12)
Water Column Data (.raw)
This provides quicker access to data insights without needing to navigate away from the map.
Workspace Security Enhancement:
A significant security improvement has been introduced with the implementation of Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). Workspace administrators can now enable or disable 2FA for users, enhancing the overall security of your workspace.
Catalogue Service for the Web (CSW) Integration:
Support for the OGC Catalogue Service for the Web (CSW) has been added, allowing seamless integration with external geospatial metadata catalogs. This standard interface enables users to discover, browse, and query metadata about geospatial data, enhancing interoperability and metadata management.
New ENC (Electronic Nautical Chart) Base Map:
A new ENC base map has been added to improve visual clarity and accuracy when working with geospatial data.
System Status
A new web page has been exposed that provides the status of the TrueOcean system: System Status Page
Enhancements/Changes:
Manage External WMS Sources:
You can now add the entire content of an external WMS source (i.e., all layers) with one click to a map. Manual selection of individual layers is still supported.
WMS source titles now update automatically when the name is changed on the external (GIS) system, ensuring consistency.
Improved Geometry Visibility:
Files selected in the result list of the GeoSearch are now highlighted with a different color on the map, making them easier to locate.
Unsupported File Type Indicator:
Files with unsupported types are now visually indicated in the file explorer with a question mark symbol, allowing you to identify them at a glance. For supported file types see Supported File Types.
Layer Group Display:
Layers on a map that belong to a group are now displayed with indentation, making group membership visually clearer and easier to manage.
Base Map Updates:
The GebCO and Satellite base maps have been removed and replaced by a new nautical map (ENC) for improved focus and accuracy.
Improved Application Continuity:
The application now remembers the state where you left off, whether navigating from a map to a file or back. This ensures a more efficient and seamless workflow.
System Maintenance Notification:
When system maintenance is running, an informational page is displayed to keep users informed.
Small Screen Notification:
When accessing the application on small screens such as mobile devices, a disclaimer explains that the user interface is not currently optimized for such devices.
Improved Conflict Resolution Messages:
Conflict resolution messages have been refined when attempting to delete files that are part of an SFTP/RSYNC upload or share, providing clearer feedback to users.
GeoSearch Performance Improvements:
Significant improvements have been made to the performance of the map's GeoSearch functionality, resulting in faster results and improved usability.
Sharing Data
We provided a more meaningful description to the article about sharing data that this is technically sharing a copy of your data
User Settings section renamed
‘Settings’ was renamed to ‘Profile Settings’ to indicate clearer this leads to User Settings to differentiate this from Workspace Settings
Processing and Stability Improvements:
Enhanced performance and stability, particularly in underlying processing layers, provide better file reading and display capabilities.
Various UI/UX Enhancements:
Minor adjustments throughout the user interface to improve overall user experience.
Side Scan Sonar (SSS) Rasterization:
The ability to generate high-resolution raster images from raw Side Scan Sonar (SSS) files is a powerful feature of our platform. As this process requires significant processing power, it may take several minutes to complete.
To ensure efficiency, we have implemented a mechanism that pre-calculates the required resources before starting the rasterization process. If the available resources are insufficient, a notification will be displayed, and the raster image will not be computed. If this occurs, please contact north.io support to increase resources as needed.
