Catalogue Service for the Web (CSW) is an OGC standard that defines a common interface for publishing and accessing geospatial metadata on the Internet. It enables users to discover, browse, and query metadata about geospatial data, services, and related resources. The application supports this standard, facilitating seamless integration with external geospatial metadata catalogs.
How to connect to a Catalogue?
Note: The ‘Settings’ tab within a project is only available to Project Adminstrators!
Drill into your project
Switch to the ‘Settings’ tab
In the section ‘Metadata catalogue’ choose ‘Connect catalogue’
Enter the catalogue URL
Click the ‘Connect’ button (or choose ‘Cancel’ to leave)
In case of a valid URL and accessible catalogue the status indicator next to ‘Metadata catalogue’ will appear as ‘Online’.
If you see a different state please check your URL, and if this is correct please contact the service provider.
Editing and deleting a Catalogue Connection
In case a project administrator connected a catalogue and needs to change the URL or wants to delete this connection click on ‘Remove catalogue’. After deletion you can enter the adjusted URL.
Note: If files are already linked via an Object ID to an entry in the external Metadata Catalogue this will be stored and not be affected by a removed connection!
Associated metadata will no longer be available, but object IDs will be kept and displayed again if a catalogue is reconnected.
How to link Files to external Metadata?
Upload a file
Switch to the ‘Metadata’ tab
Open the section ‘Catalog metadata’
Enter a valid Object ID
The external metadata is retrieved and displayed
