New Features

Expanded Side-Scan Sonar Preview Capabilities

The workflow for generating raster previews from Side-Scan Sonar (SSS) data has been expanded with new format support and output options.

MST File Support

The platform now recognizes MST Side-Scan Sonar files and allows users to generate raster previews directly through the File Inspector.

Selectable Preview Resolution

Users can select the desired resolution when generating an SSS preview. This provides greater control over the resulting raster and makes it possible to balance visual detail and output size according to the specific use case.

GeoTIFF Export

Once a raster preview has been generated from supported SSS data, the resulting GeoTIFF can be exported for use in external GIS applications, analysis workflows, or downstream processing.

Extended File Format Support

Support for additional file formats has been introduced to improve compatibility with a wider range of data sources and workflows.

Newly supported formats and enhancements include:

  • NetCDF datasets, including NC, NC4, CDF, and NetCDF files

  • MST Side-Scan Sonar files

  • GeoPackage (GPKG)

  • S-57, S-101, and S-501 chart data

  • Well-Known Text (WKT)

  • AIS vessel-tracking data in CSV format as part of the extended metocean data support

  • Extended raster preview generation for XTF files

NetCDF files are identified based on their content rather than their file extension. The platform uses CF Conventions metadata to determine the dataset type and validates uploaded datasets against the CF standard. A structured compliance report provides information about the validation results. Based on the available metadata, the platform automatically enables the supported data views for the dataset.

These additions allow more data types to be integrated directly into platform workflows.

Application Version Information

The current application version is now displayed under User Profile > General, making it easier to identify the version of the platform currently in use.

Improvements

Improved CRS Validation

The platform can now detect inconsistent or ambiguous coordinate reference system (CRS) information and clearly highlight these cases to users. This makes it easier to identify potential georeferencing issues before they affect visualization, processing, or spatial analysis.

GeoTIFF Preview Progress

When generating a GeoTIFF preview, the platform now indicates the current processing step. This provides greater transparency throughout the preview generation workflow.

Enhanced GeoTIFF Processing and Rendering

Support for alpha bands in RGB GeoTIFFs has been added. General improvements have also been made to GeoTIFF processing and rendering.

Support for Large Vector Geometries

The handling of shapefiles containing large or complex vector geometries has been improved, enabling these datasets to be processed and visualized more reliably.

Improved Workspace-wide Search

The workspace-wide search has been further improved, making it easier and more reliable to find files, folders, projects, and maps across the workspace.

Performance and Reliability Improvements

Platform-wide performance improvements have been implemented across several workflows, including:

  • Geospatial layer processing

  • Publishing files as Web Map Services (WMS)

  • Rendering data on maps

  • Rendering data in the File Inspector
