Updated over a year ago

New Features:

  • Another two file types are now supported: .til (Side Scan Sonar) and .qgup (raster) (for a full list see Supported File Types)

  • The messaging to aid users during file investigations has been further improved

  • You can now include external Web Map Services (WMS) sources directly from the maps (see Manage external WMS sources for details).

  • Guest user permission settings in the context of maps and external WMS sources management have been adjusted

  • Unsupported file types are marked as such in the file explorer .

Enhancements/Changes:

  • Enhancements in external WMS source management

  • Massive improvements in file reading and display capabilities (e.g. sgy)

  • Huge improvements in performance and stability, especially in underlying processing layers

  • UI/UX enhancements to improve the user experience

Known Restrictions

  • You might note the generation of Side Scan Sonar (SSS) previews might take a while (couple of minutes). This is expected as we implemented a rasterization mechanism that produces high resolution images

  • Preview of las, laz, pts, txt (svp) and xyz files restricted to 5 in parallel: The 3D viewer requires a separate instance which consumes quites some resources. For this reason an instance is time limited to 30 minutes. In addition the platform allows a maximum of 5 instances at the same time. The oldest instance will be removed if a new preview is inititated. The advantage is the (re-)creation of the preview works much faster than before.
