To ensure the highest level of security for our cloud infrastructure the clusters in which your application runs need regular maintenance.
The current process is that this happens in the night of the first day of each month. Usually this has no impact on your system and work, except your open RSYNC and SFTP channels you established to provide upload and/or sharing credentials.
During these maintenance activities the IP adresses generated in the upload/sharing credentials change, so this part becomes invalid and RSYNC/SFTP access is denied.
A reminder will be sent out about one week before month end about upcoming maintenance so you can evaluate if any open upload/share might be affected during this time.
Additionally a message in the application will alert each user of this process to consider when managing SFTP/RSYNC channels.
Upload and sharing channels are not meant to be open for very long times, but instead data should be uploaded and then imported to the platform (by closing and syncing the upload), and shared data should be viewed or downloaded in a reasonable time.
If you are planning to allow an (external) user upload options or have data access for a longer period you can invite this user with the ‘Guest’ role. This provides the options to have this user in a project and allow data upload/download/sharing rights, or access only to a subset of data, or view data on a map. Such ‘Guest’ user can have an expiration date set as well so access to your environment is invalidated after this date, or you can change access rights or even remove this user again.
